Continuing the journey to learn and experience the operation of one of the world’s great powers – the United States, 5 students of the School of Economics & Business Administration officially accepted jobs at prestigious offices in Indiana County including: Office of Senator Joe Pittman, Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Development Center of Indiana University, Pennsylvania and Representative Office – Jim Struzzi.SV KT 01

During this time, TTU students also attended the Effective Research Writing Class directly taught by Associate Professor, Dr. Henry Webb. Here, Dr. Henry Webb gave detailed instructions to students on how to do research and write papers like the Americans with the aim of making students familiarize themselves with the academic environment here.

“Learn hard and play hard” – 5 SBE students had great moments at Dr. Henry Webb’s house to enjoy Vietnamese dishes made by his wife, took a tour around Indiana Town, first experienced a professional baseball game in Altoona Curve and went shopping in Grove City.

Moreover, during the internship, the students were also facilitated to interact and get acquainted with the businesses here. Tran Thanh Binh – a second-year student, attended the seminar of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau (PFB) and explored Infinity’s high-quality coal making technology in Dayton, Pennsylvania.

Before the day of presenting scientific research, our students had some of the very unique experiences that perhaps very few Vietnamese students had the opportunity to experience: Attending a pre – season NFL game, rafting on the river and enjoying the famous steak of the United States.

Then, our 5 students moved to the town of Hobart, Indiana to interact and have new experiences with medical students who were practicing here. The warmth and kindness of brothers and sisters especially Mark, Chris and Dr. Thach Nguyen have somewhat alleviated the homesickness of the students.

The final destination of this one-month journey was to explore the Wind City and the place called Land of Lincoln – Chicago. 5 students have planned themselves to go to famous attraction of the city with the great help from Dr. Thach Nguyen.

With such practical and interesting experiences, students of the School of Economics and Business Administration will gain a deeper understanding of the United States and also knowledge about working styles, ways of thinking and creating the motivation for them to strive to be ready to seize job opportunities in favorite fields.
